Popularly known as Bobo M the Director and Editor of “Kas’lam”, a magazine and online TV channel that has taken digital media by storm.  

Bobo M is notable for having foretold the downfall of Print Media/Physical sales and predicated the future of online and digital media in 2015 that led him to shut down and discontinue Kas’lam Magazine print production on that same year. 

A young dynamic, charismatic and creative intellectual whose passion is entertainment and youth empowerment. Bobo is one of South Africa’s emerging and most promising entrepreneurs who created something from nothing. A true believer in dreams and success, and an avid advocate of persistence who is fast becoming one of South Africa’s most influential and well-respected digital media and entertainment Executives, as well as sort after Industry consultant.

Not only has he changed the lives of his employees, he has helped establish a lot of stars in the South African entertainment industry, particularly in music. Bobo was one of the first people to ever give Nasty C an exclusive and dubbed him the next big thing in 2015. This list includes others such Kwetsa, Una Rams, Sjava and many others.

Bobo was born in 1989 in Tsakane, East of Johannesburg and is the older brother of Tumelo “T-Rapz” Rapodile (Co-founder and Digital manager for Kas’lam Magazine) who is an IT graduate and fitness instructor.

Mr Mhlanga is a remarkable individual with an I.T Background, vast experience in business start-ups and is a self-taught graphic & web designer. He has appeared on several radio stations, Newspapers and TV programs including “Selimathunzi”, “Top Billing” and “SA fm” amongst others.   

In the year 2011, Bobo created and launched what he believed to be SA’s future leading Entertainment and lifestyle platform which has since proven to be ground breaking and produced intriguing exclusive content. He has since taken Kas’lam from nothing to a Highly successful and valuable brand that has secured deals with companies such as bricks manufacturing giant and JSE trading company “Brikor”, McDonald’s, Mazda SA and Air Mauritius amongst others. 

Known to friends as “Bobo M the future”, he truly embodies what South Africa’s future holds. His ultimate goal in to see the African Entertainment industry on a level that will compete on the world scale with the Americans and the Europeans, be it music or film. 

“When I first started Kas’lam, I literally had nothing, no money, no social capital, no rich or influential friends, and no one believed in my vision … and ever since that day my goal has always been to use our platform to help people reach their dreams.” – says Mr Mhlanga. Bobo lives by two simple rules and mantras that have helped shape his life. “I always say; Number 1, There’s always a way no matter what. Number 2, I believe that relationships are your greatest resource. Therefore, always believe and never give up, and evaluate the people you surround yourself with, they will determine your path, standards and level of success. Habits, thoughts and energy are contagious” He explains. 

Bobo is also the presenter of a business empowerment show “Level Up” on Kas’lam Online TV which aims to inspire entrepreneurship in Africa.  He is rumoured to be mentored to take over a R100 Million empire someday. His plans are to create a multi-service digital empire that will give birth to multiple publications and other online business opportunities within the next 10 years.
