It has been an incredible and thrilling Journey as we celebrate 8 years of publishing exceptional exclusive content, as well as promoting and showcasing South African talent. Kas’lam has played a pivotal role in elevating youngsters from all different kasie’s and Suburbs to the centre stage within the entertainment and lifestyle industry respectively.
Our mission is to see our vision through, as well as grow and evolve every year. Yes, we might have gone MIA for a while… but Kas’lam Magazine is coming to you bigger and better in 2020. Still one of the leading digital entertainment and lifestyle magazines, our journey has been one hell of a story to tell.
Kas’lam Magazine was founded on the premise of being the bridge between well know stars /celebrities (Successful Artists) and upcoming or rising stars, a platform dedicated to unearth rough diamonds and celebrate existing stars that shape the entertainment industry at large. We pride ourselves in the efforts to help launch the careers of young talented Africans by putting them on the same platform as well known and successful Super-Stars. Our Magazine has put a number of Artists on the map, individuals who were then just upcoming hopefuls and has helped them to become the Superstars they are today.
Started as a print publication in 2012 and as a regional (Ekurhuleni) magazine printing only just 10 000 copies per issue. Kas’lam Magazine quickly became popular amongst the streets and Townships of (East of Johannesburg) Ekurhuleni. Through our unique high-quality design style and intriguing exclusive content… People fell in love the fact that we were taking their talented neighbours and everyday kasi-mates (amajita nabo-girl) and giving them the platform to become the stars that they were born to be, so much so that the demand was now overwhelming.
In 2015, we partnered with Media Maniax as we revolutionised the game and evolved the entire industry by going digital in an unprecedented manner. We published our first digital issue in January 2015 that was widely shared on platforms like WhatsApp and we haven’t looked back since.
The magazine has now been around for over 8 years (from print to digital) averaging 300k readers per month. We have featured a number of well-known, Multi-Award Winning and high-profile International Musicians, comedians and actors and has also helped launch the careers of a number of Artists including the likes of Kwesta, Fifi Cooper, Emtee, Lady Zamar, Shimza, Nasty C, Major League Djz, Nomuzi Mabena, Amanda Black, Sjava and many others.
It didn’t just end there. Kas’lam Media Group has recently Launched its Digital Marketing and Multi-Media Development Division which is currently servicing a number of large E-commerce companies (online stores) in the heart of Africa’s richest square mile.
We brought you Nasty C before he got his Juice back, we put Kwesta on the cover before he was DaKAR and we went digital before everyone else did… the journey continues and we’re coming to you bigger and better, so stay tuned as we bring you more Exclusive content.
PS. Shout out to all our viewers and readers, we appreciate the love!
Dankie Bafwethu !!!
