Deekay has a story to tell and it’s dedicated to all the Solomons out there. No, not everyone named Solomon. In this case, Solomon is all the deabeat runaway fathers out there. This song talks about a young couple who were married during their early 20’s, years later after the wife conceived their 1st child, her partner who cared for his family is now no longer interested as his heart was stolen by a Nyatsi.
Now before you get depressed, this song is nowhere near depressing. The song is narrated through a powerful club dance sound, as Deekay shows off her powerful voice. As much as there’s a deep story behind this song, you’re more likely to end up on your feet dancing to this vibe of a jam. The song features DJ Active and it’s definitely going to keep your dance shoes active this LockDown.
DIKELEDI LETEBELE, stage name ‘Deekay’ says the song is inspired by her own life story. The father of her Son promised her heaven and earth and when she got pregnant, he left her behind with their Son. Dikeledi Letebele did not break, instead she regarded her child as a Blessing and she is still taking care of her child and both of them are growing stronger without the father of her child.
Deekay is sending a powerful message to all single mothers that it’s ok for Single Parents to step up for their kids without their fathers. however, fathers should take responsibilities of being part of their children(s) lives, in doing so this will prevent children growing up without having to fill the void of their parents therefore there will be less GBV cases.

Deekay who comes from Welkom (Free State) is definitely about to take the industry by storm. She is no stranger to the stage or the lime light, as she comes from a background of Theatre productions. The sing, act & dance triple threat started her career (on Theatre productions) back in 2012. She has worked and toured on productions like the ‘ANC Centenary Musical’, Dr Mbongeni Ngema’s ‘Number 43’, The Dots – Alexandra Township & Dr Mbongeni Ngema’s Movie ‘Asinamali’ to name a few from a long list.
Deekay & Charlie Communications say that we should expect a music video very soon. “The music video has already been shot and it features Siphesihle Vazi from Selimathunzi as Solomon. Keep an eye on the music video as it will debut the second week of August 2020.”
We’ll definitely be waiting for the video, for now make sure you get this fire jam titled ‘Solomon’ by Deekay featuring DJ Active.
