Kabza De Small’s Album Makes History

Kabza De Small

It has only been 2 weeks since Kabza De Smalls’ amapiano astonishing release; I Am the King of Amapiano: Sweet and Dust, a project that has cemented the multi-talented musician’s spot in the history of South African music and its evolution.

Kabza De Small is indeed the king of Amapiano and has the biggest 2020 album in South Africa to date.

The world’s biggest digital music platform “Apple Music” has confirmed without a doubt that Dj Maphorisa’s partner Kabza De Small has indeed made history.

“Kabza De Small’s album is the biggest local South African album to reach such astounding numbers on the first day and the first week of its release.” Says Karl Anderson, Apple Music’s head of Music Africa.

When the album dropped 2 weeks ago, 26 tracks from the album all made the top 30 chart, with condensed numbers recording 8 million streams on digital platforms. This excludes YouTube and mobile ringback/caller tunes platforms, a first in South African music history.

Chris Ghelakis from Electromode distribution, was amazed when he first noticed the songs charting on Apple Music. “It’s fantastic for Electromode to have a record like this, unbelievable! In all my years in the music industry I never thought this was possible. The digital age has taken South African music to another level. Well done to Kabza!” he exclaimed… As reported by Zkhiphani.
