Kat Anders Drops New Banger ‘Phendula’, Prepping Us For 2021

Kat Anders delivers a new soulful banger titled ‘Phendula’. The song features smooth harmonic vocals from TroyMusic and also features Thapzen on additional production. Phendula will have you torn between breaking it down on the dance floor or just getting on your knees to give praise and worship. The beautiful vocals from TroyMusiq will have you on your feelings, while the vibe brought by Kat Anders & Thapzen will definitely get you moving somehow.  

We caught up with the producer, Songwriter & DJ on Kas’lam TV’s IG Live, who said the song is a preparation for what will be a fired up 2021. Acknowledging the fact that the current year (2020) has been a tough year, he says it also came with some lessons and opportunities to learn and grow in preparation of 2021. Kat Anders was also happy to share some of the lessons and knowledge he picked up along the way of his musical journey, watch the video below to hear what he had to say.

Being an Entrepreneur that owns an Independent label, Anders acknowledged the struggles that come with being an independent Artist. Although the independent route is a very challenging one in the music industry, he also highlighted the importance and the growth that comes with owning your music. Kat Anders says there is no better freedom than being able to own your craft and dictate how, where and when it can be put out.

We all know being signed comes with some creative pressure and differences with the label, as well as the possibility of being financially exploited. Kat Anders says that particular reason combined with the advice he received from his industry peers when he was still coming up, is why he decided to take the independent route.

The Kempton park representor built his career gradually over a decade, Learning the ways of the music industry as he grows. Born in Hammanskraal and grew up in Limpopo, Polokwane. He was always surrounded by music, particularly influenced by his uncle’s extensive collection of jazz and soul. He started taking his music seriously after he graduated from University of south in 2008 and his love of music just grew extensively

After moving to the Eastrand in kempton park, he eventually asked one of his friends Arnold Nkomo to show him few ropes on the decks. In 2012, he officially became a club DJ and built himself a solid brand. When he met DJ Eltonnick in 2014 at Kempton park, that was when he began to learn the serious reigns on music production. Learning from DJ Eltonnick inspired him to build his own home studio, since then he has been a full-time music producer himself.

It wasn’t until 2018 when he dropped his first official EP, which did fairly and put him on the map to elevate to a bigger level. Now he’s back to take over with his new single ‘Phendula’, preparing for what he says will be a fired up 2021. He also promises to drop a music video for the song very soon, a few more single to come as well.
