Moh, who was a close friend with the late Biggie sends him a beautiful dedication with the new single ‘Hamba Kahle’. The song is also dedicated to friends and families of those who’ve lost their loved ones on what has proved to be a tough year. Moh recognises the loss of many heroes and legends of the nation and couldn’t help but bid them all a beautiful farewell.
This song is not only a beautiful send off to those lost in 2020, but it also a strong testament of never giving up and keeping the dream alive. Real name(s) Mbongeni Mavuso, Moh has had quite the journey in his music career. A journey that has proved to have its fair share of accomplishments, as well as challenges.
Mainly known for being a member of the band iZiqhaza, Moh and his band member Khanyisa have been around the block for some time now knocking on different doors. They made their first notable appearance in the TV Show SA’s got talent, only to lose out on the top 7. Soon After that they also competed on Arthur Mafokate’s Can Do talent search, where they also caught the attention of the Kwaito legend and got signed to 999 Music.
Not being able solidify their name through Triple 9 Music, iZiqhaza then went on to compete on X Factor Sa. iZiqhaza came second runner up on the X-Factor South Africa and caught the attention of many Music executives. Shortly after the competition, living legend Oskido took interest in the group and availed himself by mentoring them as their road to fame was knocking on their doors.
Fast forward to today, Moh has been working on getting his solo music career off the ground. In pursuit of his solo career, Moh collaborated with his close friend the late ‘Biggie‘ (Njabulo Zondi) and Shayo on a track titled ‘Lokishi Lami‘ which was released on the 28th of February 2020. Sadly, after the release of the song, we lost Biggie due to a pre-existing heart condition.
Moh and Charlie Communications both shared the grieve as Biggie was not only an artist but also a friend. The loss of Biggie hit Moh the hardest as they were really close and went way back even before they started working together on their musical journey. Moh’s grieving led to him writing a song that he would dedicate to all those who have lost their loved ones and wanted to bid them farewell. This also helped Moh in grieving his loss as he finds peace and comfort in studio.
He named his single ‘Hamba Kahle‘ and it features Durban based vocalist ‘Fey‘, whose real name is Faith Mpethwane, not forgetting his producer, Njabulo Langa. The single dropped on the 14th of August 2020, also available on all digital stores. With this song, Moh hopes to inspire hope and healing in saying ‘Hamba Kahle’ which means ‘Go Well’ to not only those who have died from the pandemic but all the beloved ones who have lost their lives.
